Parental involvement significantly contributes to the academic success of students, particularly those who benefit from the presence of both parents. This study focuses on assessing the impact of parental involvement on the academic performance of secondary school adolescents in the sciences within Mushin Local Government Area, Lagos State. The research establishes that parents play a crucial role in their children's success, serving as a motivating force based on diverse parenting practices. Relevant literature, categorized under specific sub-headings, was reviewed. The study employed a descriptive research survey with a researcher-made questionnaire to gather opinions from 120 randomly selected respondents representing the population. Three null hypotheses were formulated, and the independent t-test was utilized to analyze them at a 0.05 significance level. The study confirmed the significance of the hypotheses, highlighting the influential role of parental involvement in adolescents' academic performance.
