The reasons for the low level of cooperation between teachers and parents with a migrant background are explained and ways of improving communication are outlined. Based on the experiences and perspectives of both parties involved in the cooperation, as well as the circumstances at the school and legal regulations, the reasons for the lack of communication are listed. Communication strategies then provide insight into possible disruptive factors and how to deal with them. The requirements for teachers and schools are described, taking into account the intercultural orientation. In line with the objective of ensuring successful communication with migrant parents, practical methods for teachers and schools are presented.
