Zoé Valdés, La Habana, 2 de mayo de 1959, es escritora, cineasta y artista plástica. Zoé Valdés ha realizado una obra literaria (poética, narrativa, guionista, realizadora y productora de cine) y periodística durante más de 40 años, dedicada a la defensa de los DDHH en su país, Cuba, y en el mundo. Es profesora y conferencista, Doctor Honoris Causa de la Universidad de Valenciennes, Chévalier des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française (1996), Médaille Vermeil de la Ville de París (2012), Vicedirectora y Redactora en Jefe de la Revista Cine Cubano.
