Gunter Schubert is professor of Greater China Studies at the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies, Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. He is also director of the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan (ERCCT) at this university.   Anna L. Ahlers is a Ph.D. candidate and a research fellow at the chair of Greater China Studies.
