The book explores inclusion and accessibility for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in educational and cultural contexts, highlighting the importance of environments that promote sensory accessibility. The book discusses how alternative and augmentative communication can facilitate the inclusion of non-speaking students, as well as presenting strategies to improve cognitive accessibility, promoting better communication and learning. Interdisciplinarity is emphasized as an effective approach to literacy for children with ASD, with the use of technologies that enhance the teaching-learning process. The challenges that individuals with ASD face in understanding metaphors, which are fundamental for social interaction, are also addressed. In addition, the proposal for a pedagogical record aims to optimize the monitoring of students' progress, in line with the Individualized Educational Plan.
