Gibran Khalil Gibran es un poeta, filósofo y artista libanés-estadounidense, nacido en Bsharreh, Líbano, el 6 de enero de 1883. Emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1895. Es conocido por la profundidad de sus escritos, especialmente por su obra maestra 'El profeta' (1923), en la que explora las facetas de la vida y que ha sido traducida a más de cien idiomas. Su mezcla de influencias orientales y occidentales en la poesía, los ensayos y la prosa encarna una sabiduría atemporal que inspira a un público global. Mucho después de su muerte (10 de abril de 1931), el legado literario de Gibran sigue siendo apreciado por sus ideas espirituales y filosóficas.
