Seinen Master in englischer Literatur machte er an der Universität Bahir-Dar und schloss ihn mit ausgezeichneten Noten ab. Seine Abschlussarbeit befasst sich mit Literatur und Philosophie, Existenzialismus in äthiopischen Romanen in englischer Sprache. Derzeit unterrichtet er Literatur an der Universität Jigjiga.
