Sita Brahmachari is an internationally award-winning author of Children's and YA novels, novellas, short stories, poetry and plays. Her works are widely translated and endorsed by Amnesty International. Sita's debut novel Artichoke Hearts won the Waterstones Children's Book Award and When Shadows Fall was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. She was a World Book Day author with The River Whale and previously held the position of Book Trust Writer in Residence. Sita has an MA in Arts Education and her work is steeped in projects with globally diverse communities. She works closely with refugee communities. Sita was shortlisted for the Ruth Rendell Literacy Award, was Book Trust Writer in Residence and at Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants.
