This freed Heller to photograph as he wished, and he took his cameras with him wherever he went, whether the travel was vacation or business he would make time to photograph. Heller always used professional equipment and took his photography as seriously as his architecture. Heller worked with his wife, a photographer and artist herself, and went through approximately 2000 images to Select the ones for this book. The photographs are from a wide range of places, but the emphasis is on the image as a sense of place. The photographs are an impression in time, character and visual content.
Autorenporträt
Jeffrey Heller, born in New York City, finished his higher education in Architecture at MIT in the Boston area. He has lived in California since the late '60s. He attended a 1 week summer workshop with Ansel Adams in Yosemite in1966. He studied photography with Minor White when he returned to MIT for one year in 1968. Heller has been principal at his own international Architecture firm for the past 40 years where he had the opportunity go to less traveled places in that time. He did commercial photography for a decade and then personal photographic work over the past 50 plus years.
