This book comprehensively explores the design and application of planar slow-wave structures for millimeter-wave travelling-wave tubes, focusing on enhancing their efficiency and reducing costs. TWTs based on planar SWSs are promising for 5G/6G communications, satellite constellations, automotive radar, and security systems.

Dr. Chen Zhao earned his B.Eng. from UESTC, China, and Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, specializing in millimeter-wave traveling wave tubes, slow-wave structures, and vacuum electron device fabrication. With over 50 publications and 15 patents in the area of vacuum electron devices, he has received multiple awards, including the 2018 Jiangsu Innovative and Entrepreneurial Doctor award and the 2020 Jiangsu Six Talent Peaks award.
Dr. Sheel Aditya is a distinguished academic with nearly four decades of experience in electrical and electronic engineering, having served at IIT Delhi, India, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has made significant contributions to areas such as microwave waveguides, integrated optics, optical communication, and RF vacuum electron devices, co-authoring over 270 papers and holding five patents. A Fellow of IETE and Life Senior Member of IEEE, Dr. Aditya's co-authored book Planar Slow-Wave Structures: Applications in Travelling-Wave Tubes (TWTs) offers valuable insights for professionals and academics alike.
