Pleasure Factory is a 2007 Singaporean-Thai docudrama film set in Geylang, the red-light district of Singapore. Directed by Ekachai Uekrongtham, the film was selected for the Un Certain Regard competition at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. The film is noted for its highly explicit nude scene featuring its main star, Chinese Singaporean actor/director Zihan Loo. The film is unusual in East Asian cinema for its very frank depiction of subjects traditionally hidden in Asian society, such as prostitution and same-sex relationships, and features explicit male nudity, joining several recent Asian films in exploring these themes, including City Without Baseball, Permanent Residence, Lan Yu, 15, Bugis Street, The Pillow Book, Hold You Tight, Summer Palace and Lust, Caution).
