Rezensionen
They're like buses - you wait for a portable version of Chambers or Bradford's, and they both come along at once... Bought the new "pocket" versions of both Bradford's and Chambers Crossword Dictionaries this afternoon. Nothing to choose between them on price - 6 quid each. Chambers is smaller (size-wise), but lists 200,000 words, as opposed to 120,000 in Bradford's. Of the two, I'd recommend Chambers. Bradford's has made a massive error - they have removed all the tables of useful lists from the full-size version, so if you want, say, the name of a tree, you're out of luck, as there are no suggestions in Bradford's at all. I don't know if this means that a pocket version of Bradford's Lists is in the offing (Amazon don't list one) but with this flaw, I can't recommend the pocket Bradford's at all.
