Lindsey Dawson is a former journalist and magazine editor who has also worked in TV and radio. She has authored nine previous books. This one was inspired by a murder trial she stumbled over when researching her last novel, Scarlet & Magenta, about Victorian settlers' lives in New Zealand. That story was fiction. This one actually happened.
