This paper analyses security and participation in the favelas through the pacification policy, implemented in the city of Rio de Janeiro since 2008, which functions as a government technology that operates through the combined modulation of two programmes: the UPP and Rio+Social. Ha conseguito una laurea e un master in Scienze sociali presso la Pontificia Università Cattolica di San Paolo. Durante la sua carriera accademica, ha lavorato come ricercatrice presso Nu-Sol e nel progetto tematico FAPESP "Ecopolitica: governabilità planetaria, nuove istituzionalizzazioni e resistenza nella società del controllo" - realizzando una serie di relazioni scientifiche.
