This new revision is concisely written in clear, straightforward language taken from the original archives surrounding this child custody case. It's a work that serves multiple purposes and is not meant to be a parenting manual nor is it intended to offend anyone. It's the story of a single man who joins with a mother of two grown sons and they have a child of their own. Fast forward to three years later when things get out of hand after she bought her house and the foundation on which their relationship stood crumbled only to become clothed in deception. He began noticing a series of strange events that occurred and when questioned, she denied it all. He supported their household and was often not there so he couldn't prove anything. After doing his planned investigation, she couldn't deny her fraudulence, even with the help of her sons. He was a tenant in her home, there to do repairs, pay the bills and he had no say so it was time for him to go. In order to be a good parent to his little girl, it wouldn't happen living under her roof. This is the realization that propelled his escape. After he moved out her sons had to get jobs to help pay the bills. And then their dispute began. The atrociousness in her allegations affirmed to the court that dad was dangerous and that she be awarded sole care custody. As the court proceedings turned ugly it became his obligation to give this warning of the tribulations some non-custodial parents are forced to encounter in a child custody battle. He continued writing with the hope of helping non-custodial parents did not have to go through what he had to endure. At the end of the first year her mom defied the court orders and allowed dad to see his daughter a total of 160 hours. Whether it's separation or divorce, here's the painful truth of what can happen when a custody battle enters the courtroom. It's the mind-boggling dilemma no one talks about. This can lead to dependent kids clinging to a dominating domiciliary parent as they alienate their other parent. Early preteen estrangement develops for the absent parent they once loved and the heart damage from that is irreversible. This book gives advice and direction to non-custodial parents so he or she can gain the love and honor they want from their kids. It reveals when it's time to take action and puts on display what is needed to do well in court. This is not another boring story about a custody case. It's a non-stop suspense journey exposing the shocking events that took place in this legal process. It helps to formulate questions and pursue with investigations. This text can be a tactical handbook for developing strategies that prevent chaos, gather evidence and catch the assailants. It teaches how to be the fun parent and win the admiration of your kids by giving them what they want, time. The most compelling subject matter in this story is the resilience of a father who was determined to be involved in life of his only child. Any parent who refuses to be proactive and lets his or her guard down should be prepared to suffer the heartache and the sorrow from the outcome of an unfair verdict that can become permanent. Don't let that be you!
Raised in the "Big Easy", Michael is second the youngest in a family of ten. Looking back on his childhood, he considers that part of his life to be as normal as it could be with parents who did the best they could with what they had. Their hands were full with eight kids who, later in life all had their own opinions about the parenting skills of their folks. After high school he followed the footsteps of his friends into the Gulf of Mexico to work in the oilfield. Later in life he continued doing the same type of work in many different states across America. As time went on his expertise in performing Non-Destructive Tests greatly improved and he formed a solid inspection career. In 1992 he came home from Oregon to work in the oil and gas industry. He unexpectedly entered into a relationship with a woman he met at a lounge he shouldn't have been in. She had two grown sons from a previous marriage and two years later gave birth to their daughter. They were both ecstatic to have a beautiful baby girl, and he was glad to finally be a dad. Things went well until she secretly purchased a home where his role was that of a tenant, there to pay the bills and do repairs. He was disrespected by her sons and she no longer regarded him as the father of their child. The blossoming relationship they once had turned into poison ivy and their living arrangements became intolerable. To be a better parent to his little girl he had to move out of her home. Instantly he was trapped in a situation that could cause him to lose the one that meant the most to him, his only child. Her lawyer put in writing several inhumane allegations that made him look dangerous to the mother and the minor child. He was pulled into this vicious legal process and forced to endure the false accusations from his opposition. It was here that he became obligated to warn non-custodial parents of the anxiety and the affliction of being drawn into child custody court. In chronological order he details what it took to defeat those who became his enemies even though, he was greatly outnumbered. In the beginning he didn't know what to do and was destined to lose. He was forced to do his own investigations coupled with observations and extensive research that would clear his name. He was obedient to the court, he did the right thing and he set a good example that showed his daughter he was not the menace his opponents made him out to be. Michael goes on to tell of all the rewarding milestones his little girl accomplished in her education from the Windows 98 computer lessons, teaching her pray, how to be independent and his plan for protecting her from the problematic bullies at her school. Following court orders gave him more time to be with his little girl and save her from the emotionally damaging "effects of fatherlessness" and from there he continued being the fun dad she loved.
