Melissa Mitchell traverses the peaks and valleys of our complex internal emotional landscapes and strives to build community through creative expression. Having experienced grief's transformational power in the death of her mother, Melissa nurtures the practice of writing to access and move through our emotions. Fort Collins' 2024-2026 Poet Laureate and a Finishing Line Press New Women's Voices semi-finalist, her poems have appeared in Sunday Mornings at the River, Twenty Bellows, Blue Heron Review, and Gulo Gulo Poetry Magazine.
