Lusophone cinema does not have one defining characteristic, but several, because each film made in Portuguese-speaking countries carries its own unique identities, as well as its historical, cultural and social traits, in addition to the authorial films that reveal the personality or striking feature of the director in each work. Some points in common unite us, one of them is that the quality shown in Lusophone films does not depend on extraordinary budgets, but above all on creativity, the emblematic poetic images of each region, fictional or documentary scripts that reveal the traces of each country colonized by Portugal. We can say that Lusophone films are many and all unique. Within our plurality we have the singularity of each work, author and culture. The films made in the countries and regions of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries): Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Goa, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, and eventually Equatorial Guinea are films that have in common the Portuguese language and the descendants of the Lusitanian colonization.
