Produktbeschreibung
In Power Shift, Suzanne Ogle offers a timely and crucial guide for understanding the complexities of today’s energy challenges, framed through Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's five stages of grief. As the world demands ever-increasing energy to fuel progress and prosperity, the urgent call to reduce emissions and protect the planet presents a difficult balancing act. Ogle, an established expert as President of the Southern Gas Association, breaks down this often polarizing topic with nuance, presenting an emotionally resonant and pragmatic approach. Each chapter mirrors a stage of grief—Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance—providing readers with both emotional context and actionable insights. The book blends storytelling with real-world case studies, industry expertise, and thoughtful analysis to guide policymakers, business leaders, and environmentally conscious readers toward an inclusive energy strategy that balances renewables, natural gas, nuclear, and emerging technologies. Rather than promoting extremes or “one-size-fits-all” solutions, Power Shift advocates for a diverse, balanced approach, where innovation, compromise, and technological advancement work together to meet rising global energy demands sustainably. Chapters explore key topics such as the pitfalls of oversimplification, the limitations of electrification, and the hidden costs of renewable infrastructure. By addressing energy evolution through a relatable, emotional lens, the book empowers readers to cut through the noise of the energy debate, avoid binary thinking, and embrace a practical, long-term vision. From AI-driven innovation to resilient grid management, Ogle shows how collaboration, thoughtful planning, and diversified energy sources can pave the way toward a secure and low-emission future.
