This is for everyone who has pursued a career, money, or things but has not found happiness. The key to living a good life is looking beneath the surface to see what's of genuine value. The Pragmatic Wisdom series helps you find the path to living well by exploring fundamental human nature. Pragmatic Wisdom for the Sincere Student collects all eight volumes together in one place. Inspired by Seneca's Letters to Lucilius, the individual volumes explore themes ranging from work and retirement (Volume 1) to living and dying (Volume 3), as well as Stoic principles (Volume 5) and understanding the world (Volume 8). A perfect blend of the philosophical and the practical: Stoic wisdom that has stood the test of time, adapted for the real-life situations we face today.
Autorenporträt
James hopes he's on the path to wisdom by, as he puts it, "applying Stoic principles to live a good life and achieve satisfaction." He wants to repay the help he got in his career by sharing practical tips and tricks. He served for two decades as General Counsel of an S&P 500 company and later Head of its Global Sustainability Program. He teaches at the University of Zurich.
