Breast cancer is among the leading cancers affecting women in Kenya, with an estimated incidence of 34 per 100,000, where 70-80% are diagnosed at advanced stages. Advanced breast cancer includes heterogeneous neoplasms with aggressive biology and poor prognosis. Patients are classified as stage III (locally advanced) or stage IV (metastatic) according to the American Joint Committee on Cancer TNM classification. This study evaluated the prevalence of advanced breast cancer cases presented at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), Oncology Department, in 2015. It was an analytical retrospective cross-sectional study using data from newly diagnosed patients in 2015 obtained from hospital records and the oncology database. Findings aim to help MTRH and stakeholders improve service delivery and serve as a reference for future research. Data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and presented in tables, graphs, and pie charts. Results showed most patients presented at advanced stages, reducing survival chances. The study concludes that breast cancer remains a major public health problem in Kenya, requiring strengthened prevention and control measures.
