This research work deals with the many issues arising from the vast universe of theatrical production in Cameroon, primarily in the French-speaking zone. Far from being an indictment of the various players in the sector, it is the result of a genuine motivation whose main aim is to improve, both endogenously and exogenously, the conditions for the practice of theater in our country. For over thirty years, researchers, art critics, teachers, journalists and theatre-men have preceded us on this slippery and tortuous path, each tackling the question of the crisis of theater in Cameroon as best they could. Questions were raised, proposals were made, but the results remained unchanged. Wearing two hats, that of theorist on the one hand, and theater practitioner on the other, we felt it important to take a global approach to the problems of theatre production in Cameroon.
