This study explores the cultural and linguistic richness of the department of Ancash, a key region of Peru due to its geostrategic location that connects coast, highlands and jungle. Through an interdisciplinary approach, it analyzes the social, educational and judicial dynamics that shape the Andean-urban identity of cities such as Huaraz. It also highlights the challenges of decentralized management, the coexistence of languages such as Quechua and Spanish, and the role of altitudinal and historical diversity in the configuration of an intercultural citizenship. A valuable contribution to understand the Andes from a complex and deeply human sociocultural perspective.
