The transition period is the most critical time for the development of metabolic diseases in dairy cows. Some strategies can reduce the harmful effects of the negative energy balance that occurs during this phase. Among these, choline supplementation reduces the occurrence of ketosis and hepatic lipidosis. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the supplementation of choline protected from rumen degradation in dairy cows during the transition period in terms of their productive performance during this phase and also in relation to their energy status.
