Autorenporträt
Hallie Kay Yopp, Ph.D., teaches literacy methods courses at California State University, Fullerton. The author of numerous articles and several books on literacy development, she served as a lead writer of California's ELA/ELD framework (K-12). Hallie presents at state, national, and international conferences. She is an inductee into the California Reading Hall of Fame and is the recipient of CSU Fullerton's Outstanding Professor of the Year Award and a CSU Excellence Award. Hallie taught young children for many years, primarily in a bilingual public school setting, and continues to collaborate with agencies and organizations to serve children and their families. She is the coauthor of Vocabulary Instruction for Academic Success and Purposeful Play for Early Childhood Phonological Awareness. Ruth Helen Yopp, Ph.D., conducts research and writes about literacy, early learning, and classroom instruction. She teaches literacy development at California State University, Fullerton, and collaborates with campus and PreK-12 partners to create equitable and culturally responsive learning environments for all students. Ruth is a frequent presenter at professional conferences. She is an award-winning CSU faculty member and, prior to working at the university, she taught elementary school where she also received awards for her work with students and communities. Ruth is an inductee into the California Reading Hall of Fame in recognition of her contributions to literacy. She is the coauthor of Vocabulary Instruction for Academic Success and Purposeful Play for Early Childhood Phonological Awareness.
