On June 25th 1950, one of the biggest surprise attacks in history charged across the 38th Parallel in the almost unknown and far away land of Korea. Within days, the United States found itself in another conflict. One it was totally unprepared for having stood down the Army for the most part after World War II. What Army existed at the time, was poised to meet the threat of a Soviet invasion of Europe. The US had to respond and respond quickly if the Korean Peninsula was not to be overrun completely. The answer was to commit untrained, physically unfit, underequipped soldiers and Marines into the fight in a hasty defense and the results were horrific. Follow the actions of politicians, military leaders, and the ordinary soldier that made history. The people who held an overwhelming enemy force at bay providing time for reinforcements to be assembled, and offensive operations commenced. The events are real, as are the characters. Only conversations are fictitious.
