Mango is an important tropical fruit, highly appreciated for its nutritional characteristics. The final results for the 2016/2017 season showed that Tommy mangoes had the lowest glucose and fructose levels.

Sandra Nunes holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Maranhão. She has a master's degree in Pharmacology from the Federal University of Ceará and a PhD in Pharmacy, specialising in Pharmacology, from the University of Coimbra. She is currently an Adjunct Professor 3 at the Centre for Education, Exact and Natural Sciences at the State University of Maranhão.
