This paper narrates scenes, experiences and theoretical compositions from the training and professional practice of a psychologist with psychoanalytic training during an Integrated Multiprofessional Residency course in Collective Mental Health. The aim here is to investigate some of the discourses that permeate the constitution of the field of Collective Mental Health in Brazil from a technical, theoretical and political point of view. These are discourses which, due to their comprehensive and fundamental nature in this field, can lead to paradoxes and difficulties that ultimately manifest themselves in the daily practice of psychosocial work with "mental illness". A psychoanalytic theoretical and ethical approach is fundamental to the support and construction of the reflections woven here, which are also guided by the guiding principles of Brazilian Psychiatric Reform. In fact, the main concern is to think about how to re-establish, amid micro and macro-political disputes, the clinic as the driving force behind every act and every action.
