"A promising new voice." Sandi Ault, Mary Higgins Clark and Willa Award-Winning author of The WILD MYSTERY SERIES "A high-energy romp through Native American pueblos, casinos, and snake pits." Betty Webb, author of the Lena Jones mysteries Can a rattlesnake murder? Ex-anthropologist Minoa Diamond is back in her hometown of Santa Fe, tending bar while she reinvents herself, when she finds out her high school best friend has died of rattlesnake bite. Everybody calls it a tragic accident. But rattlers start to show up in improbable places and soon another person is struck and dies. Her old buddy's grief-crazed brother is about to get himself killed seeking vengeance, so Minoa steps in. She ends up chasing a rattler killer nobody believes in from the Indian pueblos of northern New Mexico to a souvenir shop in tiny Abiquiu, from the hideout of a venom trader to the oracle chamber of a New Age shaman. She encounters rattlesnakes in New Mexico history and in her own nightmares. Will she figure out where the venom is coming from before the rattler killer strikes again?
