Maya Dawn Fisher is a transgender woman, below-the-knee amputee, writer, and professional procrastinator residing in rural Southwest Virginia. When she's not dodging deadlines or avoiding adult responsibilities, Maya enjoys unapologetically chain-smoking on the porch, sipping coffee, and yelling at her three cats to stop plotting against her-one of whom is deaf.She's been partnered with the same unlucky woman, Misty, for 20 years, and they're both still baffled by their teenage daughter's ability to survive (and thrive) despite their best efforts to mess her up.Maya's debut novel, Reborn in Shadows, has been selected for inclusion in the Library of Congress, a milestone that ensures her voice and storytelling will be preserved among the literary record.Her writing is a mix of humor, heart, and occasional profanity, which she hopes will make you laugh, cry, and possibly question her life choices.
