The start of the 2015/16 school year was dominated by one topic in particular: the arrival of refugees! Both the strategic considerations as to how we should deal with this new and challenging situation in Upper Austrian schools as a whole and at individual locations, and the development of a schooling concept for refugee children who were already here and those who would be arriving during the year, but also the numerous personal contacts that arose through my new role, were particularly appealing and, even if this may sound a little exaggerated, were a meaningful task for me.
