Produktbeschreibung
This is the final volume of Royal Welch Fusiliers Regimental Records, which cover 325 years of proud history. The book has two major sections. The first deals with the chronicle of the final years and the events leading to the amalgamation. It covers the last tours in Northern Ireland, firefighting, operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, training in Belize, Cyprus, Kenya and Canada; as well as the many sporting and ceremonial events of the period. The Regular, Reserve and Cadet units are all covered, as are the Associations, Regimental Institutions and events. With the concurrence of R.H.Q. of The Royal Welsh, the volume goes up to 2014 when the title 'Royal Welch Fusiliers' was finally lost. The text is supported by many photographs, maps and diagrams. The second major section is a series of Annexes providing additional detail missing from the previous seven volumes - especially Volumes I-IV. To have included all of the information that we had would have made the volume impossible to handle and too expensive to produce. The Trustees of the Regimental Museum have, therefore, decided to try something new. In addition to the printed Annexes, some Annexes will display a URL which take the reader to an online Annex. Thus, we combine a traditional volume, which will sit on the shelf alongside the other volumes, with emerging technology. This has the added advantage that the online material can be revised and updated whenever necessary.
