O autor é gestor de projectos na Autoridade Nacional de Túneis (NAT). A sua experiência é dividida em dois campos: prático e académico. Desde a sua licenciatura, trabalhou em muitos projectos de infra-estruturas, como engenheiro de obra, engenheiro de controlo de qualidade e gestor de projeto. É doutorado pela Universidade do Cairo na área da Engenharia e Gestão da Construção.
