Among various methods in animal husbandry aimed at boosting reproductive potential, artificial insemination stands out as an exceptionally effective technique, particularly in dairy cattle. Its economic advantages over natural mating are significant; however, challenges in accurate estrus detection limit its full potential in dairy operations. Studies have shown a clear link between inadequate estrus detection and reduced reproductive efficiency. To improve estrus detection rates, synchronization programs, which help regulate the lifespan of the corpus luteum, have been introduced. Recent studies have reported the use of protocols combining hormones for therapeutic estrus synchronization in early postpartum dairy cows with ovarian disorders. This underscores the need for a comprehensive study of estrus synchronization programs, particularly fixed-timed in early postpartum dairy cows, including those with ovarian disorders. An evaluation of the Ovsynch protocol could lead to the development of a more effective and reliable synchronization program that maintains pregnancy rates in postpartum dairy cows.
