Chen Xiaoduan is a professor of education at the School of Education, Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU), Xi'an, China. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from the Xi'an Physical Education Institute in 1982. He studied master's course in the Department of Education at the Shaanxi Normal University, and obtained his master's degree in Education from Northwest Normal University in 1989. He spent two semesters (2001-2002) to study doctoral course at the School of Education in the University of Leicester, UK. So far, he has written over 90 journal articles, published more than 30 books, also undertaken more than 15 research projects. His research interests are in three main areas: basic theories of curriculum and teaching, teacher education, and teacher professional development.
