Cyhoeddwyd ei nofel gyntaf, Brynhyfryd, pan oedd hi ond ugain oed ac ers hynny bu'n awdur toreth o gyfrolau, gan gynnwys nofelau, straeon byrion, llyfrau i blant, cofiannau a drama. Enillodd y Fedal Ryddiaith yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 1965 a 1968 a Thlws y Ddrama yn 1974. Hi oedd awdures y gyfres deledu 'Minafon'. Enillodd y Goron yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Abertawe yn 2006 a gosodwyd ei chasgliad o straeon byrion, Oni Bai, ar Restr Hir Llyfr y Flwyddyn yn 2006. Cyhoeddodd ei chyfrol ddiweddaraf, Pry ar y Wal yn 2017.
