Rheumatic heart disease is a preventable pathology that remains endemic among vulnerable groups in many countries. The aim was to describe the epidemiological, clinical and evolutionary aspects of rheumatic heart disease in a 3rd referral pediatric hospital in Bamako from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022.This was a cross-sectional, retrospective and descriptive study of children aged 0-15 years hospitalized in the pediatric department of CHU Gabriel Touré for rheumatic heart disease. Rheumatic fever was defined according to the modified Jones criteria, and heart disease was diagnosed by ultrasound examination. A total of 52 patients were included in the study out of 35611 hospitalizations.Rheumatic heart disease is a neglected disease, responsible for significant morbidity and mortality. Efforts are needed to broaden the therapeutic arsenal, raise public awareness and increase funding and research.
