After emigrating to Canada from Guyana in 1993, Dr. Narine Dat Sookram has become one of the country's most accomplished individuals. With over 200 awards, he holds the distinction of being the most decorated individual in Canadian history. Dr. Sookram's academic journey is equally impressive, with over a dozen university degrees, including a doctorate in social work. He is a proud member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and his work reflects a lifelong commitment to helping others grow and thrive. In addition to Rising Above: My Path to Outstanding Achievements, Dr. Sookram has also published a poetry book, The Teenage Years. He lives in Canada with his wife, three children, and parents. When he's not writing or mentoring, he enjoys listening to music and connecting with people from all walks of life.
