Sandy Moonias is a poet, screenwriter and educator. Her poems have appeared in Canadian and American anthologies, including Reflections of Thunder: A Local Anthology (Writers Circle, 2003), Timeless Voices (The International Library of Poetry, 2006), Thunder on the Bay (Writers Circle, 2008), Who's Who in American Poetry (Eber & Wein Publishing, 2013), and Thundering: A Local Anthology (Thunder Bay Writers' Circle, 2013). 'Slowly Getting Wise' received the Editor's Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry, presented by poetry.com and the International Library of Poetry, 2007. Sandy's screenplays; Ice Fishing Tale, Alternative Education and Transformation received finalist awards at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards in 2024.
