Thania Orellana was born in Choloma, Cortés, Honduras, Central America, has a degree in secondary education, and for 27 years she has been a literature and history teacher in bilingual schools in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. In 2019, she immigrated to North Carolina, in the United States. She works at the Gibsonville Public Library, where she builds connections with the local Hispanic community. Rosita and the Miracle of the Heavens is her first children's story.
