On the sunny Golden Sands of Australia's Gold Coast, Jason has everything he could possibly want. His construction business is a success, his love life has never been better, and his two children fill his heart with pride. But when he makes a late-night detour to an old nightclub while celebrating a milestone for his construction project, his carefully constructed life starts to fall apart. In the nightclub, Jason meets a young woman in distress, triggering a string of events that threatens his career and family. With his building project derailed by persistent vandalism and his kids endangered, Jason must dive into his own past, confront his mistakes and set them right. What does such destruction foreshadow and who is writing the mystifying messages in red paint on the walls? Everyone is a suspect: neighbours, colleagues, business rivals, even Jason himself. With danger closing in and all the clues pointing towards his past, Jason must unearth buried memories and ultimately question his very self. Despite the high stakes, he won't let anything stand in the way of protecting his children and stopping the dark forces threatening his neighbourhood. But can he find the answers before it is too late? In Jay McAlister's debut novel, danger arises when the past resurfaces and threatens to unravel everything Jason has worked for. What does he stand to lose while defending his family?
The oldest child in a big, busy family, Jay McAlister grew up in Woodridge, and later on the Sunshine Coast. He worked a range of jobs, everything from surf instructing to pumping petrol, eventually becoming a carpenter by trade. He bought his first property at 19, beating his former maths teacher in the auction. Since that time, Jay has started and run various successful businesses, working in the fields of advertising, construction, a record label, TV, and more. Despite being semi-retired, Jay now finds himself busier than ever between business interests and making time for creative pursuits. Jay lives on the Sunshine Coast, where he enjoys playing the guitar, cooking forfriends and family, singing loudly and dancing at any opportunity he can get. His twochildren mean the world to him. Run, Run, Run is Jay's first book, inspired by someof his own life experiences. He plans to keep writing, making music, coming up withnew ideas and living his life with exuberance and enthusiasm.
