For fans of The President is Missing and The First Ladies comes a fun read with a deliciously devious plot about American Politics, The First Family, and love. "A page turning thrill ride-taking twists and turns you never see coming in this tale of a dual love story and deception at the highest level-summer's must-read book!" -Peggy Marie, Hollywood Critics Association "You've heard of the Deep State and insurgent groups. What if one had infiltrated the other? In this nail-biting novel about politics, family, love and loss, we're constantly forced to test the limits of power and trust." -Hernan Lopez, Founder, Wondery Democracy is under attack, militant extremist groups unleash chaos upon the American people, and conspiracy theories are mistaken for reality. Sound familiar? Running with the President is a romantic political thriller that mirrors today's headlines but still manages to deliver the escape from reality you deserve. Meet Doris Machado, a recently widowed nurse living in New York City, who is called to action as a first responder in the aftermath of a massive terrorist attack. Almost immediately, she stumbles onto a secret that tests the limits of her dedication as a nurse. Doris finds herself in over her head and uncertain of whom she can trust, including herself. Yet, determined to save her patient, she realizes she must risk her life by embarking on a daring cross-country run, evading the very government agencies that should be protecting her. In a race against time, Doris, the First Lady, and the First Family put their lives on the line as they search for the truth while experiencing epic loss and shocking revelations that will leave you asking yourself, What would I do in this situation? A special thank you to Lisa Martin, my sister for her editing work in the early nineties with our father and to Peggy Marie for her story ideas, editing, creative and diligence.
