Autorenporträt
Joseph W. Ryan is a retired Army officer and teaches history at Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas, Texas, USA. He earned his PhD from the University of Kansas in 2010. David R. Segal is a professor of sociology and director of the Center for Research on Military Organization at the University of Maryland, USA. He is the author or editor of more than a half-dozen books related to military sociology, and in 2007 he received the Morris Janowitz Award for Career Achievement.
