Sanctified: Coming Clean with God is the second book in The Joy of Christian Discipleship Series developed by Dr. Morehouse and his experienced team and the second study guide in their three-part Celebrate Salvation® group discipleship study course. Each of the of three 68-page course workbooks covers a Stage in the discipleship of a committed Christian believer, starting with 3 steps of conversion to faith in the first book, Saved. Sanctified is the next book in the course and covers 3 steps of growth in discernment and maturity. The third book, Sent, finishes off with a significant study of how to carry out the Great Commission. Both Saved and Sent are available to complete the course, along with a published book of Handouts to accompany the lessons in all three. The three course workbooks are designed to serve as study guides for small discipleship groups of 2-12 (ideal 3-8) committed members. Each guide is divided into twelve weekly 4-page studies containing four studies on each of the three steps in the first two books and four studies on each of the three ways of carrying out the Great Commission - in Word, Deed, and Power - in the third. A dedicated group can expect to complete each workbook together in about 12 weekly sessions over one semester or a 3-month period with breaks for holidays. New small groups may gather and start at any time with leaders who have already gone through this or similar material themselves.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Morehouse was raised in a traditional Christian home in the 1950's and functionally became a humanist during college and medical school in the 1960's. After completing his medical residency in Family Medicine in the early 1970's he embarked on a career of serving the poor but soon found that his secular faith and alternative lifestyle were woefully inadequate to the task. In 1974 he underwent a dramatic conversion from the philosophy and lifestyle he had been living to a wholehearted commitment to Jesus as his Lord and Savior. After returning to medicine and marrying in 1975, he and his wife have dedicated themselves to growing in faith, raising their family of four children (plus eight grandchildren), and providing Christ-centered service to some of the most disadvantaged members of their community. Since retiring from active clinical practice in July 2018, Dr. Morehouse has devoted himself to study, writing, and teaching about the Kingdom of God. He has had long personal and professional experience with the material covered in the work published under the Celebrate Salvation trade label by His Kingdom Press.
