A Legal Exploration of Constitutional Foundations and Governance offers a thematic and accessible overview of key chapters of the Indian Constitution. Rather than simply listing Articles, it provides in-depth insights through legal interpretations, judicial commentary, and simplified explanations. The book traces the Constitution's historical evolution, explores its diverse sources of inspiration, and unpacks its core features such as federalism, democracy, and secularism. Key areas covered include the Preamble, Union and its Territory, Citizenship, Fundamental Rights, and the Directive Principles of State Policy. It also highlights landmark judgments and contemporary constitutional debates, making complex legal concepts easy to grasp. The final chapters focus on the Union Executive, explaining the roles and powers of the President, Vice President, and Council of Ministers in a parliamentary framework. Ideal for students, legal aspirants, and readers interested in India's constitutional framework, this book fosters a deeper understanding of governance and constitutional values.
Shruti Chaurasia is a practicing Advocate based in New Delhi, originally from Karnal, Haryana. A passionate voice for constitutional literacy, she completed her B.A. LL.B. from Asian Law College, Noida (affiliated with Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut). Shruti has contributed two research-based chapters to the legal publication "Constitutional Contemplation: Essays and Perspectives", marking her early engagement with critical legal discourse. Inspired by the visionary legacies of Justices H.R. Khanna, J.S. Verma, D.Y. Chandrachud, and V.R. Krishna Iyer, she aims to make constitutional understanding accessible to students, legal professionals, and informed citizens alike. "संविधान पे चर्चा" is her dedicated effort to bring the spirit of the Constitution closer to the people.
