Her secret begins her senior year when she ends up in a secret romantic relationship with John Catchton, 18 . . . and then in one with Brad Johnston, 18, who has a girlfriend. And that's not all. John and Brad happen to be very good friends with each other and go to the same school as her. But someone out there knows about her secret and lets her know it by sending her a series of threatening secret text messages, and this is not the only thing she's receiving. She's also receiving unwanted roses, so this now has her very cautious about the two she's secretly involved with and about whether or not her secret will be revealed. But it doesn't take her long to feel uncomfortable about being in a secret relationship with John and Brad at the same time, especially since Brad has a girlfriend and there's someone out there who knows about her secret, so she chooses to end it with one of them, and when she does, this starts a trail of even more secrets and lies. And due to this choice, she ends up in an open, committed relationship that she doesn't ever expect to be in, but what she doesn't expect most of all is when a dark secret leads to an incident that no one sees coming and will put Rosemont High School on the map and change the school forever. Vanessa and her friends decide to conduct their own investigation into this incident and forensic science plays a huge part in their investigation, but the DNA results gives them news they never expect to hear. In addition to this, she also finds out that she's more connected to this case than she ever thinks she would be, as well as all of the twists and turns that lead to this incident . . . and this is just the beginning. Sheila Michelle has been a book lover ever since she fell in love with Judy Blume books over 30 years ago while in middle school. Today, she's a full-time writer and writes both young adult and adult commercial fiction. Sheila likes to write mostly young adult books that are dark, edgy, mysterious, and suspenseful that's filled with teen drama. She also likes to add a humorous element to them as well, and there's always some romance, whether sweet or erotic. But most of all, she likes to have important messages in her books that she wants every girl to learn from, and it's important that these messages are not overlooked. Her characters are usually beautiful, conceited teen girls who are in a serious need of an attitude adjustment (FunGirl), as well as ones that are considered to be some of the luckiest girls in the world, but have to deal with a lot of issues that no one would ever want to have to deal with (Queen of a Kind; School, Sex and Secrets). Writing has always been a passion of hers, and will continue to be. When she's not writing, she loves reading mostly non-fiction, but will read anything that she finds interesting. When she's not writing or reading, she loves watching YouTube videos, going to concerts, eating spicy foods, watching old and new movies and TV shows, and shopping online and in stores that she can't seem to stay out of. A native of Wisconsin, she lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
