"The Inland Northwest is blessed with four distinct seasons for those who find little pleasure in wasting away indoors ... Fishing Season, Huckleberry Season, Hunting Season, and Snow Shoveling Season," says author Mitchell Smith. An outdoorsman from a rugged family, Smith explores the glories of wild country in the Inland Northwest and beyond, as well as the One who created it, using fresh expressions of prose and poetry. Just as in nature, there are seasons of life, some easier, some harder. "The same way wild country challenges outdoorsmen, seekers, wanderers, and trekkers, God the Father provides incredible opportunities for us to grow our faith through what he puts in our paths," says Smith. This second book in the Throughline series, following A Litany of Praise, tracks the author's lifetime efforts in learning to trust Jesus with every outcome of life. These delightful and often humorous meditations on learning to trust Jesus give us another unique window on the wonders of creation and the majesty of God in compelling language. I want my readers to know Jesus has placed an invitation in each of their hearts to experience the fullness of God, an invitation to stand on holy ground in all wonder and awe as God's presence completely overwhelms. -Mitchell Smith
