Second Grade Awakening is a 2004 album by folk singer John Craigie. It is his second album, and the first to feature backing band The Accidental Poets. It is considered a favorite amongst fans and includes "The Please Don't Rain Dance", "We Come From the Sky", and "If". John Craigie (born June 15, 1980 in Westchester, CA) is an American singer-songwriter who currently resides in San Francisco, CA. Hailed as a "Modern-Day Troubadour" in the style of Woody Guthrie and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Craigie has been touring the United States for the past 6 years, playing in a diverse style of venues including center camp at Burning Man, local bars and coffee shops, and a number of radio shows such as KPIG, KHUM, KRCL.
