Writer Heidi Sarna has lived in Singapore for over twelve years. She started exploring the island's secrets soon after she arrived, eager to uncover the myths behind its shiny modern office and apartment blocks. Her journey of discovery started when she came across the ruins of an abandoned colonial-era house that had been swallowed up by the city's relentless tropical urban sprawl. When she's not investigating Singapore's back lanes and forgotten places, Sarna writes about travel and small ship adventure cruising for her blog, QuirkyCruise.com. Singaporean heritage enthusiast Jerome Lim has been writing his The Long and Winding Road blog since 2008 as a repository for his memories of old Singapore. Considered one of the most knowledgeable authorities on the history of this island state, Lim loves exploring and photographing the Singapore that many people have forgotten or never knew existed. A naval architect by profession, Lim also leads tours to offbeat places for the Singapore Land Authority (SLA). He likes nothing better than researching fascinating aspects of his country's past in the National Library or out in the field, notebook and camera in hand.
