We hope this volume contributes to such an observance by assisting scholars and the general public to recover and appreciate anew the principles of Hamilton's political thought - principles that undergird free and prosperous republics.

Morton J. Frisch was a professor of political science at Northern Illinois University and is the author of Franklin D. Roosevelt: The Contribution of the New Deal to American Political Thought and Practice. He also co-edited American Political Thought: The Philosophic Dimensions of American Statesmanship and The Political Thought of American Statesmen: Selected Writings and Speeches.
