In contemporary societies, it makes sense to think of people as individuals. We have individual bodies, minds, aims, and dreams. But in very meaningful ways, being human is not being an individual anymore. It is about belonging to a particular group of people. "Who we are" is a very simple question but it is defined by the social networks and communities to which we belong. This new sense of belonging has created new kind of identities which is hybrid identities.

Nasceu em 1989 em Mugla, Turquia. Atualmente, sou assistente de investigação na Universidade de Bitlis Eren. Concluí a minha licenciatura na Universidade Afyon Kocatepe em 2012 e o mestrado em Sociologia e Política Social na Universidade de Southampton em 2015. Os meus interesses de investigação incluem: sentimento de pertença, direitos humanos, teóricos da sociologia pós-moderna.
